Some days, the space between jobs ends up being the best part of the day.
This morning, while driving between pet‑sitting visits, I came across a huge herd of antelope moving across the open fields. Dozens of them — alert, graceful, and completely unbothered by the world around them. It stopped me in my tracks in the best way.
These are the moments that remind me why I love the work I do.
Pet sitting keeps me on the road, moving from home to home, checking in on animals who are safe, loved, and waiting for their people to return. Those drives take me through some of the most beautiful parts of southern Colorado, and every once in a while, nature gives me something unforgettable — like today’s antelope herd.
And as the photographer behind Trusty’s Golden Hour, I can’t help but see these scenes through a creative lens. The movement, the colors, the quiet around them… it’s the kind of natural beauty that fuels my work and keeps me inspired.
Even on the in‑between days, I’m grateful — for the animals I care for, the clients who trust me, and the wild Colorado moments that show up right on time.
