A Journey Back to My Roots: Trustys Golden Hour

Updated: Apr 6

Celebrating Nature Through Photography

This week, something unexpected and deeply meaningful happened — I was featured in the Wet Mountain Tribune. Seeing my story in print, laid out across half a page, stopped me in my tracks. Not because of the attention, but because of the journey it represents.

My life has taken me through many chapters. I was rodeo royalty as a kid, spent years in healthcare, raised my family, and started over more than once. Ultimately, I found my way back to the valley that shaped me. Every step, even the hard ones, led me back to the mountains, the open space, and the golden light that has become the heart of my photography.

The Power of Storytelling

What made this feature truly special was how my friend KC told the story. He didn’t just write an article. He honored the path, the grit, the pivots, and the quiet moments that built the woman I am today. He captured the spirit of this valley and how it has held me, challenged me, and welcomed me home.

Photography wasn’t part of the original plan. It grew out of necessity, curiosity, and a deep love for the land and the animals that have always been part of my life. What started as a way to stay grounded during a difficult season became a business, a passion, and a way to reconnect with the community I love.

Finding Peace in the Golden Hour

Standing in the golden hour light of Wet Mountain Valley, camera in hand, I feel the same peace I felt as a kid riding horses at sunset. It’s a reminder that some things never leave us — they just wait for us to return.

In this serene moment, I realize how important it is to embrace the beauty around us. Nature has a way of grounding us, reminding us of our roots and the simple joys in life. I strive to capture these moments in my photography, making them accessible to everyone.

A Heartfelt Thank You

I’m grateful for this moment, for this feature, and for every person who has supported my work. Thank you for walking this road with me. And thank you, KC, for bringing my story to life with honesty and heart.

Here’s to the long road home — and to the light that guides us there.

Embracing the Journey

As I reflect on my journey, I recognize that every experience has shaped who I am today. The challenges I faced and the triumphs I celebrated have all contributed to my growth. I invite you to embrace your own journey, no matter how winding it may be.

The Beauty of Nature Photography

Nature photography is more than just a hobby; it’s a way to connect with the world around us. Each photograph tells a story, capturing fleeting moments that might otherwise go unnoticed. I encourage you to explore this art form, whether through your own lens or by supporting artists who share their vision with the world.

Trustys Golden Hour: A New Beginning

At Trustys Golden Hour, my goal is to make beautiful art accessible to everyone. I want to share the magic of nature through my photography, allowing you to bring a piece of the outdoors into your home. Every print is a reminder of the beauty that surrounds us, waiting to be appreciated.

Join Me on This Journey

As I continue to grow and evolve as an artist, I invite you to join me on this journey. Together, we can celebrate the beauty of nature and the stories it tells. Let’s create a community that values art, nature, and the connections we share.

Here’s to new beginnings, cherished memories, and the light that guides us forward.
