Chapter 6: Destiny’s Path: How Every Chapter Led Me to My Golden Hour

Every chapter of my life has carried the same quiet truth: nothing has ever been random. My story began with destiny — with two people who were always meant to meet, even though their lives should never have crossed. The San Luis Valley held them both at the exact moment they were meant to find each other, pulling them together with a force neither of them understood. Their meeting wasn’t chance. It was alignment. And that same force has followed me through every turn, every job, every move, every reinvention.

Through my childhood years — the rodeo royalty, the 4‑H ribbons, the early mornings and long days that taught me discipline and grit — destiny was already shaping me. My freedom in California taught me independence and how to trust myself. My early business years with kenneling and my CNA training taught me responsibility, compassion, and how to care for others with my whole heart.

Then came single motherhood — the chapter that taught me strength, sacrifice, and how to rebuild a life from the ground up. Those were the years when I stepped fully into my CNA and home‑care work, volunteering with Rotary, raising my children with the help of a community that wrapped around us like family. Those years weren’t easy, but they were formative. They taught me how to stand steady in the storm and how to keep moving even when the path wasn’t clear.

After years of home care, house cleaning, and lawn care, COVID hit and changed everything. My clients passed away, the world shut down, and once again I was standing at a crossroads with two kids depending on me. But destiny has never left me stranded. It always nudges, redirects, realigns.

So I adapted.

I shifted.

I trusted destiny again.

That’s when pet sitting began — not just for me, but for all three of us. It became something we built together. The miles, the quiet houses, the animals who trusted us instantly — they became our therapy, our reset, our peace. The business grew fast and steady, becoming the backbone of our life.

And through all of it, I kept taking photos. I’ve taken pictures my entire life — sunrises, sunsets, roads, wildflowers, animals, anything that made me stop and breathe. Not for social media. Not for attention. Just because the moment was there, and I didn’t want to lose it. My photography has always been separate from my clients’ pets — something personal, something that belonged only to me.

Somewhere along the way, I realized I was already living the life I wanted.

I was already traveling.

I was already caring for animals.

I was already capturing the world in the in‑between moments.

And deep down, I knew something else:

my future self had been leading me here the whole time.

Every shift, every reinvention, every chapter was a breadcrumb on the path.

Destiny wasn’t just behind me — it was ahead of me, pulling me forward.

So I built a business out of the life destiny had already placed in my hands.

That’s how Trusty’s Golden Hour was born — not out of desperation, but out of purpose. Out of alignment. Out of the understanding that every chapter before this one was preparing me for the moment I finally stepped into who I was meant to be.

I still pet sit. I still travel. I still move through the world the way I always have — steady, observant, grounded. But now I carry a camera with intention. Now I create on purpose. Now I’m aligned with the version of myself who always knew this chapter was coming.

This isn’t the life I stumbled into.

This is the life destiny built through me.

This is the chapter where everything finally makes sense.

And this is where I stop — not because the story is over, but because this is the place destiny brought me to. The place my future self always knew I’d reach. The place where every chapter before this one finally aligns.

This is my finale.

My arrival.

My golden hour.
